Job Description
The Power Solutions Sales Rep will sell Power Generation Equipment at a profit for the company. This position will increase the dealership’s market share specifically in the sale of power generation equipment to end users, contractors and engineers in assigned territory.
What You Will Do In This Role - Through the use of CRM, maximize sales in assigned sales territory – analyzing sales opportunities, solving customer problems, and assisting sales promotion
- Plan sales call activities to maximize sales opportunities
- Manage territory in the most efficient manner
- Establish a professional, positive working relationship with assigned customers, electrical contractors, consulting engineers and end users
- Remain current on new Caterpillar power generation products, as well as competitive products
- Manage expenses related to sales activities; practice expense control; submit expenses, and expense reports, on a timely basis
- Submit all reports (forecasts, call reports, surveys, and competitive data) as required
- Attend, and participate in, all sales meetings, trade associations and shows, and required training
- Keep territory product population up to date, notifying the proper personnel of any changes
- Communicate with sales management and support personnel to maximize efficiency, communicating needs for sales transactions and changes in the markets served
- Create technical sales presentations for the prospecting of new customers
- Create marketing plans, basic marketing and financial analysis of opportunities, cost structures and profitability ratios
- Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
Our Ideal Candidate - Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Sales skills – prefer sales experience in related field
- Product specific technical knowledge as it relates to generator application and electric power system design.
- Familiarity with forecasting, ordering, inventories control and terms management.
- Strong motivation and self-starting initiative is required
What Will Put You Ahead - Bachelor of Science degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Five or more years of sales experience in the electrical industry
