Continuity Health DBA The Canaan Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL is looking for several certified nursing assistant (CNA)/ home health aide (HHA) personal support companion, and Respite Care Associate to join our 23-person strong team. Our ideal candidates are selfless, ambitious, engaged and committed to serving those who are unable to care for themselves.

We have a variety of CNA/HHA or Personal Support Companion positions available with flexible hours. As a Canaan Center Aide you will provide services to patients in their homes and follow carefully detailed support plans to implement with the clients to promote healthy and fulfilled living. Duties will be as followed,

Responsibilities

• Homemaker: performs household chores such as housekeeping, meal planning and preparation, shopping and routine household assistance to the client.
• Companion: In addition to the above duties, a companion may provide companionship for the client such as keeping the client company at home or on an outing in the community.
• Personal Support: provide the same functions as a companion but also provides hands on care of the client. Duties may include bathing, hair washing, shaving, dressing assistance, medication reminders, assistance, toiling, and other personal care.
• Respite Home Care Associate: Engage the child in age-appropriate activities such as coloring, puzzles, games, and other activities. Provide modeling, prompting, and reinforcing desired skills and behaviors. Assist in conducting prescribed assessments through detailed observation and collaboration with the team leader and parents.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Have access to reliable and insured transportation also ability to travel locally per job requirement.
• Have at least one year of verifiable experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred) or in a medical, psychiatric, nursing, childcare setting.
• Home Health Aide (HHA) certification (45 quarter-hours) and/or Certified Nursing Assistant license for the applicable positions.
• CPR Certification (preferred)
• AHCA Level 2 Background screening.
