Position Description The Department of English at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Rhetoric and Composition. Preferred areas of specialization include writing center administration and writing across the curriculum.
Teaching assignments may include core English courses and undergraduate and graduate courses in Rhetoric and Composition. Successful applicant is expected to demonstrate and maintain an active record of publication.
Successful applicant is expected to direct the university writing center.

This position is subject to availability of funds.
Required Qualifications - Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or closely related field, with degree completed at time of appointment (18 graduate hours in English).
- Background and/or experience commensurate with the position and sufficient to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Rhetoric and Composition.
- Demonstrated ability in scholarly research on writing, writing centers, writing across the curriculum (WAC), or writing in the disciplines (WID).
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in the administration of writing programs and / or writing centers.
- Experience or ability to devise programming that encourages faculty to participate in WAC/WID or related activities.
- Experience teaching and mentoring first-generation and/or non-traditional students
